Parts Are on the Way
over 5 years ago – Fri, Sep 28, 2018 at 08:51:44 AM

Happy Friday, everyone. It's the perfect day for a Rainsaber in NYC--crisp, cloudy, and drizzly. Under these conditions, the umbrella is a hoot. We can't wait to get them into your hands.

We don't have too much new to report at the moment, but we did want to let you know that all but two of the parts have been ordered. We're already tripping over boxes in our apartment. We are still putting the finishing design touches on the canopy and carrying sleeve, but these will be manufactured in good time ahead of our assembly start date.

For those of you who ordered the Rainsaber One, we are excited to share a few upgrades. First, we have replaced the core of the printed hilt with 3K plain-weave carbon-fiber tubing. This will make the handle virtually invincible, but also cut down on printed parts and assembly time. Second, we've been able to move from an 18650 3200mAh battery to 26650 5200mAh, adding 15-20 minutes of LED run-time. We have two more surprises in store, but we're still testing them to see if they live up to their potential. We'll let you know when they're ready.

These upgrades do come with some aesthetic changes, however. The carbon fiber tubing has forced design alterations from an all-black profile to one with mixed materials of aluminum, nylon, and carbon fiber in various shades of gray and black. We think your Rainsaber One is even better looking than first conceived, but we'll post pictures soon to make sure your expectations track with ours.

For those of you have ordered the iconic hilts wielded by our favorite heroes, we're doing our best to upgrade these models with carbon fiber tubing and enhanced features, too. Unfortunately, this is much more difficult because the fixed shape and diameters of the classic designs constrict what we can do. Be advised that any upgrades may also affect the all-black profile--but here, too, we think you'll like the end results.

Finally, 19 of you still have not completed your rewards surveys. Shame, shame. Please take a moment to find it in your email inboxes. We need your reward preferences and shipping addresses to fulfill your order on time. Don't make us call you out by name!

That's all for now. Have a great weekend!

Ben
